Day in and day out, lawmakers are making health policy decisions that are guaranteed to impact patients and anesthesiologists alike, demonstrating that the promotion of safe, high-quality anesthesia care is not solely limited to our clinical work. Without advocacy, there are no guarantees that the interests of patients or anesthesiologists will properly be addressed. Therefore, it is critical that anesthesiologists are not only aware of but also taking steps to influence the decisions being made both in Washington and in state capitals across the nation.
